Dnow is the event that you look forward to every year. Don’t miss the biggest and best Dnow in the history of Lone Oak FBC.

Our camp pastor for the week will be the one and only TOM RICHTER! You may remember him from every other Dnow we have ever had!  He’s awesome and you won’t want to miss his hilarious stories and challenging messages about Jesus.  Tom is the pastor of a church located in North Alabama, called Cullman First Baptist Church.  Before moving to Cullman, AL Tom served for 14 years as a pastor in New York City at a church called New Hope Christian Church. Tom is a Murray State University graduate, and has his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Music will be led by Issac Pittman. Issac is a talented musician and an awesome man of God. Throughout his musical career, he has shared the stage with several international artists including Brandon Heath, Jars of Clay, Bethany Dillon, Shane & Shane, Rachel Lampa, Taylor Sorensen, and Meredith Andrews. Today Isaac Pittman leads worship for numerous conferences, youth events and camps locally and across the United States. Issac will also be leading worship for those of us who attend summer camp in Chicago this year.

NEW THIS YEAR: CAMP WIDE GAME!

Everybody playing the same game at the same time! Yes it will be awesome!  In addition to open rec, we’ll also play a camp-wide game that will keep you fired up all day long.  Want to know what it is? Too bad! You’ll have to show up to find out!

OPEN RECREATION!

It’s back! In addition to a camp wide game you will have open recreation all afternoon.  That means from 1pm – 5pm, you can climb on the Aerial Adventure Park, zip down the Zip-Lines, of shoot your friends while playing Bazooka Ball or Laser Tag.  All the other open recreation options will be available as well, basketball, gaga-ball, volleyball, and Frisbee golf.  Recreation just got a whole lot more fun and exciting!

Most importantly, we will spend time together each day in worship and studying God’s Word. Tom will lead us through 4 sessions based on the theme – OUTCAST – based on the passage “The Woman at the Well” found in John 4.

Jesus is all about the outcast: the lost, the broken, and those on the fringe. Jesus, the Messiah, took time for kids and people with incredibly contagious and deadly diseases. His close disciples included ordinary fishermen with dirt under their nails and even the dreaded tax collector. Jesus saw beyond our groups of “accepted” and “outcasts”—beyond race, gender, or social standing—and into the hearts of people he loved.

That’s what this series is all about: seeing others through the eyes of Jesus and inviting the outcasts in.

BREAKAWAY 2018

BREAKAWAY 2018

WHEN: JULY 23-26, 6:00-8:00PM

WHERE: @LoneOakFBC D-Building

WHO: MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

WHAT: Free food, Worship, Games, and Fellowship

THEME:

Whether it’s insecurity, doubt, fear of rejection, or the fear of unmet expectations, fear holds many of our students back. The problem with this is, of course, that God has called us to face our fears and lean-in to who He desires us to be. Scripture is clear: God empowers us to meet the tasks He’s set in front of us. We want our students to confidently embrace the plan God has for them. And so this year’s theme is called:

NEW THIS YEAR:

Instead of having multiple teams, this year there will be one EPIC battle of AMPLIFY VS RESONATE. Each night we will compete in games to earn points for your team, in addition to points for friends brought, Bibles, and team spirit. Wear your Amplify or Resonate swag each night to represent your team!

Also, new this year we will have free food available in the youth lounge from 6:00-6:30PM. Come early and stay late! Each night the gym will be open to play 9Square, Basketball, GaGa Ball, etc, or hang out in the youth lounge. On the final night we will once again have our MEGA SLIP-N-SLIDE!

Hope you can make it out each night for this awesome week! Make sure you invite a friend!

What should we pack?

Uprising Camp Packing List 2018

Is there competition?

Yes! Find out which team we are on at the Parent/Student meeting this Wednesday, June 20 @ 6:00pm in the Youth Worship Room.

Ever since the inception of GENERATE, two sides have been locked in epic battle: The Pack vs. The Pride. This video outlines how you can lead your tribe to victory (and be the ones holding Festus in triumph).

Is there a theme?

Yes! The theme is UPRISING.

  • Day 1: Because there is no one like our God, we raise up in worship.
    • “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.” – Hebrews 12:28
  • Day 2: Because Jesus died for us, we are raised to new life.
    • “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” – Romans 6:4
  • Day 3: Because God loves us greatly, we rise above the world and love at all costs.
    • “And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” – Ephesians 5:2
  • Day 4: Because we have the Good News, we go and tell, raising the banner of the Gospel.
    • “Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to Him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God.” – Romans 7:4

Be cool, but don’t be a fool! If needed, help a brother or sister out.

What is “One More Thing?”

Free time options will be announced each morning.  There will be sports tournaments, time to hang out with the cast, and time to get to know the band and camp pastor.

Where will we serve?

Students will serve with our North American Mission Board church planting partners in neighborhoods within driving distance from Wheaton. The high school will serve in Wicker Park with the Church of the Beloved.  They will host a 3-day VBS. Middle School Students will be doing some community service projects in the suburbs of Chicago. These projects will include: yard work, window washing, painting, and picking up trash at a local park.  Everything they do will serve to see the Gospel proclaimed and the mission of the church strengthened.  Boxed lunches will be served on-site.

What else?

  • First Light – On the third day of camp, a brief devotion and prayer time will be led by a GENERATE staff member. This time is optional, and the location of this time will be announced the day before.

  • GENERATE 5K – On the fourth day of camp, there will be a 5k around the campus of Wheaton. Participants can win points for their tribe.
